The Chief Operating Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer of hospital operations. Primary reporting relationships are with the Director of Nursing, Chief Financial Officer, Assistant Administrator and Controller.
Primary responsibilities of the COO will be to provide direction and administration of general operations for ancillary departments, productive management, and new service line development.
The accountability of this position is to ensure high quality health care is delivered which meets or exceeds set standards while maintaining a reasonable cost structure. The COO is responsible for ensuring compliance with hospital, governmental, JCAHO, and management expectations.
Please note that the other work experience may consist of COO experience in a for-profit acute care hospital or less than 5 years not-for-profit experience in an acute care hospital.
* 3-5yrs of experience with a for-profit, acute care hospital, including overseeing general operations for ancillary departments, strategic planning, as well as physician relations and recruitment. * MBA/MHA is required. * 10 yrs supervisory experience required in department budgets related to ancilliary departments. * Management experience in hospital/healthcare environment. * Experience in hospital administration. * Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. * Computer skills
